Las Vegas will host the final presidential debate at the Thomas & Mack Center. The last debate is scheduled for October 19th 2015. Las Vegas came out ahead of a list of 16 cities including Nashville TN, Birmingham AL and Jacksonville FL.
According to the Las Vegas Sun:
The expenditure approved by the Las Vegas visitors authority includes a $1.95 million host fee and $2.05 million for the event program and production.
The debate is expected to have a significant impact on the valley. The authority estimates that the media exposure generated by a presidential debate will be worth more than $50 million, and the Las Vegas area will see a direct economic impact of $6 million.
Traffic
Approximately 3500 journalists are expected to be attending the final debate. Visitors can expect heavy traffic around the Thomas & Mack Center located south of Las Vegas Boulevard, particularly along Maryland Parkway between Flamingo and Tropicana Roads.
